The Jackson Theatre Guild is holding auditions for their summer musical, “Mamma Mia!” in arrangement with MTI, Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5 at 2 p.m., and 6 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, May 6-7 (possible callbacks)
Auditions will be held upstairs in the rehearsal room at Old City Hall, 314 East Main Street.
No prior experience is necessary to audition. There are diverse roles for ages 15-plus.
ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
You are asked to please have a brief musical number prepared for auditions – which does not have to be from the show.
Bring sheet music (accompanist will be provided) or you may plug your phone into the JTG’s amp.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes you can move/dance in, and please arrive promptly – 15 minutes early.
Show dates will be July 18-21, 2019.
You must be able to rehearse on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on some Saturdays.
The show is being directed by Scott Conley and the music directors will be Benjamin and Christina Duffey.
Choreography will be by Renée Brooks.
