JACKSON, Tenn. – Madison County Sheriff’s office has issued a “Telephone Scam Alert” after receiving reports of threatening calls using the name of a deceased deputy.According to a release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the
caller uses the name of deputy James Marshall and tells the person
they have a fine they must pay for failing to report for jury duty,Sheriff John Mehr says citizens are urged to be cautious about suspicious
calls as the holiday season approaches, he adds citizens should not
cooperate, by sending money.Anyone who receives a call is asked to document the phone number and any
names given and to contact the sheriff’s office at 731-423-6000 or Crime
