The percentage of people who have received the COVID-19 vaccination in Madison County leads the state of Tennessee, according to James Ross, CEO, West Tennessee Healthcare.
“Madison County – and I don’t want to take anything away from providers in Madison County, or particularly the health department – but we have made a significant contribution to the vaccination rate for Madison County (which) leads the state at 46 percent vaccine,” Ross said, “Of all the counties across the state, Madison County is leading that effort.”
Ross made his comments during the West Tennessee Healthcare’s Board of Trustees meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
“A lot of great coordinated effort,” Ross said, “Tina (Prescott) working with Kim Tedford at the health department and with other communities around us, we feel really good about having that success, but we’re not stopping, and the vaccine for the kids starting (today) will help us continue on that effort.”
