Jackson, Tn – In a special called County commission voted to proceed with a lawsuit against the city of Jackson over public school funding. The action comes after the county met in private session with its attorney. The move will shut down any attempts for negotiations or settlement between the two parties. Jackson City Council had left the door open to meet with and discuss possible resolutions. Jackson City Mayor Jerry Gist says that he is disappointed but that now it will be up to the attorneys and the courts to settle. The County commission voted to budget $25,000 in additional legal fees for attorney Steve Maroney to proceed.
