JACKSON Tenn (Nov. 8, 2017) – Wells Johnstone, a senior at Madison Academic Magnet High School, was announced Tuesday as one of the national finalists for the Wendy’s High School Heisman.
30,000 applicants were originally submitted for the competition. the search is down to ten finalists..
Eligibility includes maintaining a 3.0 GPA, applicants must be a proven leader, and a role model in the community. The applicant also be a member of an IOC recognized sport.

State winners receive a $1,000 scholarship, national Finalists get a $5,000 scholarship and the national winner is awarded $10,000 toward their education.
In December Johnstone will travel to New York for the national program.
