Leadership Jackson nominations are open

Leadership Jackson, now in its 43rd year, was developed to give people the knowledge to take leadership one step further, empowering participants with a healthy sense of self, clarity of purpose, wide span of awareness, responsibility for diversity and the desire and ability necessary to serve the community.

Excellent comments have been received from employers who feel the program puts their key employees on the fast track in familiarizing them with all facets of our community and its leadership to further develop their own leadership skills.

Leadership Jackson is a program not only for newcomers but for those Jacksonians with an interest in learning more about all areas of our community and a desire to help shape its future.

The class will be limited to approximately thirty, representing a cross-section of our community. Strict attendance is required for successful completion of the program beginning with a Get Acquainted/Information Session on September 8, followed by a mandatory Opening Retreat on September 14-16.

Please review the attendance requirements and time commitment, as well as the program schedule on our website at www.leadershipjackson.com. Each session planned is an integral part of the learning process and each session maximizes the experience of the participant.

Should you want to participate, get your immediate supervisor or CEO to nominate you or, if you are the primary decision maker, you may self-nominate. For ease of nomination, we have an online Nomination Form located on our website.

Nominees will receive an informational email and be asked to complete an online application form due by July 15. A selection committee will review this application along with a personal interview of each candidate beginning in mid-July. Applicants must be employed by a Jackson Chamber member to participate in this program.

Leadership Jackson has a proven track record. Alumni of the program are an integral part of the leadership in this community. We hope you will agree that “leadership and learning” are indispensable to each other! Your applicant will return empowered, informed, engaged, and connected.
