Kyle Spurgeon, president of the Jackson Chamber, has been appointed to the advisory board at the University of Tennessee.

Spurgeon was one of 20 people appointed to the four University of Tennessee system schools by Gov. Bill Haslam.

Each board is comprised of five public members, one faculty and one student member.

Spurgeon was appointed to the University of Tennessee at Martin.

The UT advisory board members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the General Assembly.
