Karen Bell, finance director for Madison County, announced her resignation when the Madison County Commissioners held their monthly meeting at the West Tenn Research and Education Center, Monday.
Bell worked for the City of Jackson for 26 years in a similar position.
She started her new position July 1, 2019, replacing Mike Nichols, who retired.
The financial management committee will meet at a date to be determined at the Finance Department, 1981 Hollywood Drive, to discuss a replacement for Bell.
