The 40th annual Circles of Hope telethon, hosted by the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, will be held August 13 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.Â
The telethon will be live on WBBJ, simulcast on WNWS 101.5 news/talk and live-streamed on the exchange club’s facebook.Â
The Center relies on donations and fundraisers to help parents and children improve their quality of life through victim advocacy, trauma-focused therapy, and other programs that provide food and clothing for children.
The theme of the telethon is ‘There’s no place like a safe home,’ reiterating the fact that child abuse can happen in any size, shape or color home.
The lineup is as follows:Â
- Reverend Jesse and the Holy Smokes, 1 p.m.
- Smooth Jazz Progressions, 2 p.m.
- Music by KOTA, 3 p.m.
- Lower Middle Class, 4 p.m.Â
- Paula Bridges and the Bandstand Review, 5 p.m.
