I’m Mark Johnstone, local businessman and former Chairman of the Madison County Commission.  Serving as Chairman of the Madison County Commission was one of the greatest honors of my life and afforded me the privilege of serving a place I love and people I believe in while upholding the conservative principles that I fought for and kept.

Today, I am announcing the formation of an exploratory committee to help me evaluate running to be Jackson’s next City Mayor.  I have heard the voices of people across Jackson calling for energy and vision.  Your voice matters, and in the months ahead, I look forward to beginning this journey together by listening to your concerns, understanding your hopes and exploring the amazing opportunity to be your advocate in the Mayor’s office.  I am ready for the challenge and am looking forward to building on our strengths.  By working together, Jackson will be that “shining city upon a hill”.
