A life-long Jacksonian, Jimmy Exum joins Jimmy Duke and Tom Mapes at 2 p.m., today,  Thursday, November 5, when ‘LEGENDS’ airs on Talk N West TN, 101.5 FM and 96.5 FM.

A graduate of Jackson High School, and Lambuth College, Exum is – and continues to be – civic minded.

Locals most likely link him to the music industry – Jaxon Records Recording Studios – and the popular Amphitheater at the Market (AMP), Exum actually began a 20-year career with the Tom B. McClamrock Company as president of the insurance, real estate and construction company.

But his visibility skyrocketed In 1983 when he founded TotalREACH, Inc., a cable advertising, sales and production company, which is now EPlus TV 6.

During his time with TotalReach Inc., the company became a division of Murray Guard, Inc., and Exum’s tenure with Murray Guard continued through 2017 as Executive vice president, Senior vice president and vice president emeritus.

“Jimmy’s love for and devotion to his home town of Jackson is evidenced by his service on numerous local boards of directors – many as chairman,” said Jimmy Duke, host of the popular ‘MIDDAY MIX on 101.5 FM.’ “These include – but are not limited to the Greater Jackson Chamber, Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau, Carnegie Museum Board, and the Jackson Amphitheater Board.”

“He is a board member of the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant and was the producer of the annual Miss Tennessee Pageant for over 50 years.”

Exum was at the forefront of the Amphitheater at the Market (AMP), which opened adjacent to the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market, in 2014, when then-Mayor Jerry Gist – City of Jackson – placed him in charge of the project.

Join Jimmy Duke and Tom Mapes at 2 p.m., today, November 5, on Talk N West TN, 101.5 and 96.5 for the full interview with Jimmy Exum their ‘LEGEND’ for November.

‘LEGENDS’ is an exclusive presentation of Arrington Funeral Directors and Golden Media Group.

Archives of past ‘LEGENDS’ interviews can be seen on Talk H West Tn Facebook page.
