Through text messaging, Keith Sherley, NEWSTALK/101.5 FM radio personality discussed the Jackson-Madison County School System’s superintendent position with Dr. Jerry Woods, who is running for Mayor of Jackson.
Dr. Eric Jones, superintendent of the school system announced he will resign June 30, and Sherley contacted Woods to gauge his interest.
Sherley told Woods he is receiving telephone calls and text messages about Woods becoming the next superintendent.
WOODS – Have not heard that rumor … focusing on the Mayor’s race right now!!! Thanks
SHERLEY – It’s being discussed on radio and in public … So, I can say that you have told me you are not pursuing and will not accept the superintendent’s position, but are focused on the Mayor’s race?
WOODS – I didn’t say that I wouldn’t accept the position however … Mayor’s race and eventual outcome could lead to possible consideration if there is still interest and support.
