From Jackson Energy Authority
After peaking at 1,007 customers without power last night (April 3) at 10:30 p.m., this morning there are less than 200 electric customers without power.
However, 7 utility poles, several in the Riverside Drive, Steam Mill Ferry, Mt. Pinson Road area, were downed because of last night’s high winds.
There is extensive work to be accomplished in clearing lines and replacing these downed utility poles. This work continues today, but full recovery is going to involve extended time.
JEA will provide progress updates and regrets this weather damage and disruption of service to JEA customers.
An additional note: It is recommended that any downed power line be treated as a live/hot line. Those lines should be reported to JEA at 731-422-7500.
