Jackson Energy Authority’s board of directors approved two resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
“JEA’s board of directors met in an extended session today for presentations from each division on budget plans for 2026-2027,” Monte Jones said. “Each Senior Manager reviewed their areas and laid out plans for the budget which will be presented in the June meeting. All systems are performing very well, and budget discussions went well.”

‘The board also approved two new business items which were related to an upcoming update to the South Water Treatment Plant Aerator Building and approval of an application for the State of Tennessee revolving loan fund for construction of a new Wastewater Biosolids Dyer Project, that has been planned for several years,” Monte said. “This will be a very important and beneficial project for JEA.”
Resolutions –
Approved authorizing and providing for the financing of the construction of a wastewater facilities project, including authorizing the execution of applications, contractual agreements, and other necessary documents, and making certain representations, certifications, and pledges of certain revenue in connection with such financing – the Department of Environment and Conservation CW2 2026-502 Project Loan in the amount of $9,975,000 which includes $3,600,000 principal forgiveness.
Approved entering into a contract with Charlie Irwin Painting, LLC of Franklin, TN, for cleaning, repairing, and coating the exterior of the South Water Treatment Plant Aerator Building based on their low bid of $119,000.
