Jackson Energy Authority’s board of directors approved six resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
“JEA’s board of directors met to discuss several business items,” said Monte Jones, Chairman of the Board. “Those items included approval of engineering services for the electric division, purchase of materials and equipment for various areas, approval of grounds maintenance services, authorization for banking services and bill management services. All items were approved.
“Additionally, financial reports for January were reviewed and accepted by the board. An update on the recent gas line repair near Highway 45 south at the Forked Deer River was given.
“Repair work was successfully completed on this project thanks to work from the gas division staff along with support from several other areas of JEA. Affected clients were notified of the issue and kept up to date through the work.”
Resolutions authorized
- A miscellaneous Electric, Gas, Water, Wastewater and Telecom directional boring contract with Coltek Services, LLC.
Coltek Servicess, LLC submitted the low bid of $552,700 - A contract for fuel delivery and related services.The Board approved leveraging Mansfield Oil Company of Gainesville, Inc.’s contract … at an estimated annual cost of $900,627.06
- A contract for conducting the annual gas leak survey.
The Board approved entering into a contract with EGW Utilities of Carrollton, Texas … based on their low bid of $81,064.60 - A contract with CTR Coatings for Wastewater Division manhole coating project. CTR Coatings, Knoxville, TN submitted the low bid of $104,666
- Adopted Telecommunications service rate adjustments. The Board approved the adjustments to the cable television rates effective May 1, 2025.
- The purchase of wholesale internet and data center connectivity.
The Board approved NCTC Windstream for Transport, $502,272; Iris Networks for Transport, $572,976; Ritter Communications for Transit and Transport, $423,000 and GTT Communications for Transit, $153,000.
