JACKSON Tenn – Shots rang out in the early hours of Thursday morning and left 1 victim dead.

Approximately 4:50 Thursday morning Jackson Police received a 911 call of shots fired in the 60 block of East University Parkway. When they arrived officers discovered a black male in his 20’s with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was sent by EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators impounded a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. Police do not think this was a random shooting.

The name of the victim has not been released. No suspect description is available.
