Jackson Energy Authority is scheduled to give an existing facility at 119 E. College St., an extreme makeover.
Damaged by a water leak in 2013, all interior rooms have been removed by a demolition project, which was completed in 2014.
“It has been empty since about 2013, and we’ve entered into an agreement with TLM Associates to do a redesign, and we will be moving our HR Department, our IT Department and our Call Center into that building – hopefully – sometime next year,” said Jim Ferrell, president/CEO of Jackson Energy Authority. “We are going to start the design services now, and hopefully bid packages to go out to local bidders by the end of the year.”
The Board authorized a contract with TLM Associates, Inc., for design services for the building renovation at 119 E. College Street, during its monthly meeting, Thursday.
The amount is not to exceed $225,000.
The estimated cost of renovation is $3,000,000, and the estimated interior office furnishings are priced at $282,000.
