The Jackson Energy Authority’s board of directors reviewed and approved seven resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Monday.
“Those resolutions were for equipment and supplies for the electric and water divisions while also approving the provider for employee long term disability insurance,” said Monte Jones, chairman of the board of directors at JEA, “The board also received reports on the financial condition of JEA.
“(JEA) president Jim Ferrell updated the group on monthly fuel cost adjustments and purchase gas adjustments.”

Authorized the purchase of a Hendrix Spacer Cable System – Border States of Jackson submitted the low bid of $159,997
Authorized the purchase of one new trencher & trailer for the Electric Division – Vermeer Midsouth of Cordova submitted the low bid of $201,927.47
Authorized the purchase of one new compact track loader for the Electric Division – Thompson Machinery of Jackson submitted the low bid of $161,047.53
Ratified the purchase of two 60-foot insulated aerial devices on cab & chassis for the Electric Division from Altec Industries for $276,411 for both units with a price increase ($4,647.72) on one unit which brings the total price on one unit to $281,058.72
Authorized the purchase of valves and fittings for the Water Division – Consolidated Pipe, Memphis, submitted the low bid of $73,101.20
Approved the purchase of GME trench boxes (4) for the Water/Wastewater Division – ICM of Memphis submitted the low bid of $59,040
Approved provider of life/accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) and long-term disability insurance
