JACKSON, Tennessee – Jackson Christian School, a private, Christian-based college preparatory school located in Jackson, Tenn., is pleased to announce senior student Emma Gaskill is recognized as a Semifinalist and senior student Jude Taylor is recognized as a Commended Student by the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.
As a semifinalist, Gaskill has the opportunity to compete for National Merit Scholarships worth near 28 million dollars in the spring of 2023.
According to a press release from Janet Wylie – JCS Director of Marketing & Public Relations – high school juniors entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

National Merit Scholarship winners of 2023 will be announced beginning in April 2023. These scholarship recipients will join 368.000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title since 1955.
