The Jackson Beer Board approved six special occasion permits, two business permits and temporarily withheld one business permit during their monthly meeting on Tuesday at City Hall.

The University School of Jackson was approved for a special occasion permit for their annual Holiday Mart that will be held Nov. 17-19.

Nicole Russel was approved for a special occasion permit for two STAR center fundraising events. Both the Dancing with the Stars event, being held at the Jackson Fairgrounds on Oct. 26, and the Black Tie and Boxing event, being held in early 2024, were approved by the beer board for the sale of alcohol. 

Joe Collins, of Redemption Road Rescue, was approved for the organization’s 9th annual “Make it Shake it Martini Party” being held at the Jackson Fairgrounds on Sept. 29. 

Jonathan Ross, representing Jackson Pride, received approval from the board for the “Pride After Dark” event that will be held Sept. 16 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. 

Adam Rust and Sacred Heart of Jesus School was approved for their Oktoberfest fundraiser that will be held at the Nelson Barn on Sept. 30. 

Friends of Heart was approved for the Black Tie and Blue Jean fundraising event that will be held Oct. 6 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. 

Easy Mart Valero, located at 309 N Highland Ave, was approved for a business license.

Carnitas, located at 101 Carriage House Dr., was approved for a business license. 

Taziki’s, located at 1142 Vann Dr suite 100, was not approved at the meeting due to a possible disqualifying event in the owner’s past. Taziki’s will receive conditional approval from the beer board pending evidence.
