It could be as early as Friday, or not until Sunday, but J-Petal Japanese Crepe & Thai Ice Cream, will open this weekend at 19 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons, next to Kroger.
“We’re not sure which day, but when we open, we’ll be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week,” said Ryan Sun. “Thai ice cream differs from the traditional ice cream offered in supermarkets … Thai style is rolled ice cream.”
A few of the ice cream items on the menu will include the Cookie Monster (Oreo and Chocolate Pocky Stick), Girl Best Friend (Strawberry, Banana, Popcorn) and the Green Hulk (Oreo, Banana, Matcha, Walnut, Marshmallow).
J-Petal Crepes originated from Japanese Crepes, which are made with fresh vegetables, fruit and meat.
In-house seasoned beef and handmade cream are two secret ingredients in its crepes.
Ryan Sun, who also owns No. 1 Chinese Food, 3189 North Highland Avenue, said he learned about J-Petal Japanese Crepe & Thai Ice Cream from his brother – who works for the company.
