Glass shattered by gunshots at the south entrance of the Old Hickory Mall on Monday has been replaced, but the investigation into a shooting that left one person injured continues.
Officers and investigators of the Jackson Police Department arrived at the mall, 2021 North Highland Ave., in reference to a subject who had been shot around 3:55 p.m., Monday.
Responding officers located a victim who sustained what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury.
Jackson Police do not believe the incident was a random act of violence but a targeted act of violence.
According to the JPD, the victim in the incident was also the same victim from a recent shooting on East Forest Avenue. In the earlier shooting incident, the victim refused to talk with officers or investigators.
Jackson Police continue to investigate the shooting and ask anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400 or crimestoppers.
