From the Jackson Police Department

On January 25, 2025, officers responded to the 100 block of Hardee Street regarding a pregnant female who had been shot at that location.

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a 15-year-old female lying on a bed in the bedroom of her boyfriend.

Initially, the suspect claimed the victim shot herself while playing with a gun.

However, following further interviews with investigators, the suspect admitted that he shot the 15-year-old.

He stated that he took the gun from her, and it accidentally discharged. As a result, the suspect was charged with two counts of second-degree murder in Madison County Juvenile Court. At the time of the shooting, the victim was pregnant with the suspect’s child.
