Tennessee Highway Patrol, Madison County Sheriff, Jackson Police Department All Encourage Citizens To Please Stay Off The Roads Except For Absolutely Necessary Travel

In Many Places Driving Conditions Are Worse Today Than They Were On Monday At The Start Of This Weather System

Icy Roads, Glazing Ice In Other Places And Refreeze Have Made Travel Hazardous

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement:
“The Madison Country Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning for drivers today.

At 7:51 an accident was reported involving 2 vehicles at the intersection of Christmasville Road and Oakfield Road,
It soon became a 5 car accident with no serious bodily injuries,

Sheriff John Mehr has issued an appeal to all citizens that unless you must get out, please stay off the roads today as they are in the worst condition that they have been in all this week.

Officers have reported three times the amount of traffic this morning compared to earlier this week.

So please use good judgment and stay inside if possible,”
