Here’s a few activities taking place in Jackson today and Sunday.
Jackson Hot Air Balloon Classic at McKellar-Sipes Airport continues from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., today
This family fun event will include live music, a kids zone, food trucks, craft vendors, and a spectacular Hot Air Balloon Glow at dusk.
Tickets: $15 / Children 5 & under are FREE
Youth Fishing Rodeo at Muse Park
Bring the kids down for an old-fashioned fishing rodeo at Muse Park pond, with free hot dogs, refreshments and TWRA goody bags for every participant.
Trophies and great door prizes in each age division, with grand prize drawings for new bikes.
Ages: 5-15 (Age divisions: 5-8, 9-11, 12-13, 14-15)
Competition continues until 11 a.m.

Rockabilly Gran Prix bicycle race returns for its sixth year in Jackson
The race weekend, featuring three races; The Bicycle City Rockabilly Road Race, the Rockabilly Time Trial, and the Hub City Bicycle-GIANT Downtown Criterium, attracts over 300 racers from all over the country to the city of Jackson and Madison County.
The racers will vie for over $12,000 in prizes and the race benefits YoungLife of Jackson.
The Bicycle City Rockabilly Road race at Trinity Christian Academy features Tour-de-France style racing over distances from 11 for the juniors to 66 miles for the Pros.
The event began at 8 a.m.
At 5 p.m., the Rockabilly Time Trial, also at TCA, is a five mile speed fest pitting each rider against the clock.
Sunday – the race moves to the beautiful Jackson Walk/Lift Wellness Center area for the Hub City Bicycle-GIANT Downtown Criterium.
Racing over short, fast laps the Criterium offers the best views for spectators. The Doublewides will perform live rockabilly music just before the pros race at 2:30 p.m.
The Lift Wellness Center will hold the Rockabilly Rascals kids races.
In a first for the race, EPlus TV Channel 6 will be broadcasting live from Noon until 4 p.m.
Sunday’s races will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
