Harry Ellison Arrested for Home Invasion
Jackson Police arrested Harry Ellison, 58, of Mercer last night
around 9:20 p.m., after receiving a tip that he was coming into the
city from Beech Bluff. Patrol officers stopped a vehicle on E.
Chester near Lenoir Street and arrested him. He was wanted for
Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Robbery. He is scheduled to
be formally arraigned tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. in Jackson City
Court.
His wife, Elizabeth Ellison was arraigned in Jackson City Court this
morning on the same charges. She was set a bond of $50,000 and
remains in custody at the Madison County Jail. A preliminary
hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m.
RECAP:
On April 16 around 4:30 a.m., police received a call to 49 Southside
Drive. An 82-year-old man told police that he awoke to find a man
and woman inside his home. The male intruder picked up a shotgun
that belonged to the victim and struck him in the head and abdomen,
while the woman took money from his wallet. The suspects fled the
residence with the victim’s money and shotgun. The victim was not
seriously injured.
According to the victim, the woman was an acquaintance who he
only knew as “Liz”. Investigators identified husband and wife, Harry
and Elizabeth Ellison as the people responsible.
