It wasn’t a rush to judgement, but Taeshon Curry was selected the high school football  ‘Player of the Week’ presented by Talk-N Sports Fox Sports WTN – after rushing for 169 yards on 10 carries, and scoring two touchdowns in Jackson Central-Merry’s 40-13 win over visiting Union City, Friday, October 24.

Player’s quote

“The line did a great job of making their blocks and that allowed me to hit the hole and do what I do … that’s make something happen,” said Curry, a sophomore running back. “We’re just here to ball.” – Taeshon Curry, Jackson Central-Merry High School running back

Coach’s quote

“It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. The offensive line did a great job of opening holes tonight. Curry just needed a crease and he’s going to get through and make something happen. Curry kept several drives going for the Cougars. – Erit Turner, Jackson Central-Merry High School head football coach

JCM (4-5) visits Halls (3-6) for their regular season final at 7 p.m., Thursday.
