The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 84-year-old male died Jan. 21 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 161 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 65 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 10,163 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 9,105 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 11 months to 78.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty-two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Three of those patients are on a ventilator.
