The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department was notified this week of a second confirmed COVID-19 death in Madison County. The 77-year-old female died Saturday in hospice care.
She was a resident of American Health Communities (AHC) Forest Cove in Jackson.
The health department received positive test results for one more confirmed case of COVID-19. We now have 164 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The most recent case is a 54-year-old female, who is not hospitalized. Epidemiology staff are reaching out to people who had contact with this patient.
Three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, two of those patients are on ventilators.
One hundred forty-three Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and eight people say they are feeling better.
