Health Department confirms 222 cases of COVID-19 in Jackson-Madison County; up 5 from Thursday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for five more confirmed cases of COVID-19. We now have 222 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest cases include:

  • 31-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • 32-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 69-year-old female (hospitalized)
  • 21-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • 28-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)

Our Epidemiology staff is still trying to contact one of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. Our staff is also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

One hundred ninety-four Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and six people say they are feeling better.
