From the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department –

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 73-year-old male died Sept. 8, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 270 in Madison County.

The health department has received positive test results for 264 more cases of COVID-19 since Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. We now have 17,072 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 15,007 have recovered.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
