There were fireworks, and then there were fireworks.
The Jackson Generals pounded out 11 hits in a rain-shortened, seven inning game and posted an 8-2 win over visiting Birmingham at the Ballpark at Jackson, Tuesday.
Playing before a crowd of 4,270, the Generals got multiple hits from Kevin Cron, Dawel Lugo, Evan Marzilli and Galli Cribbs for their eighth win in 11 outings against the Barons this season.
Cron accounted for three RBIs, two on his 16th home run of the season – in the bottom of the of the seventh.
Brad Keller (5-6, 5.08 ERA) picked up the win for the Generals, and Jared Miller, who worked the final 1.1 innings, earned his second save of the season.
A majority of the fans in attendance at the game remained for the fireworks display, presented by the United States Marine Corps.
The two teams continue their five-game series at 6:05 p.m., Wednesday.
