Gail Mapes, the wife of Tom Mapes – who has been associated with Grace Media Group since 2008 – passed away at approximately 4 p.m., at home, Sunday.

She was 76.

Gail began working as a dispatcher for the TWRA in 1968, retiring after approximately 22 years of service.

She also worked for the Madison County Election Commission for Kim Buckley and Spence Dupree.

She and Tom were married for 53 years.

She leaves her husband Tom and daughter Marcie Woodard (David), three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Bill Way, a 20-year plus year employee with the Wireless Group. Bill Way passed Nov. 27, 2018.

Arrington Funeral Directors will have the arrangements, which are incomplete at this time.
