JACKSON Tenn (March 12, 2015) — No one was injured but east Jackson residents say they have never seen anything like it. A derailed train spilled corn over a section of James Buchanan Drive
Four cars derailed from the 30 car train Wednesday, two of the cars tipped, spilling more than 7,000 bushels of corn onto the road, according to West Tennessee Railroad General Manager Barry Crabtree.
The incident occurred along James Buchanan Drive.
According to  Crabtree, the train was moving at a low rate of speed when it struck a broken switch on the track and the train was sent off the track.
Heavy equipment will be brought in Thursday morning to clear the tracks. According to Crabtree, a grain vacuum will be used to clean up the spilled corn.
