JACKSON TN (February 26, 2015) — The Jackson Association of Fire Fighters Local 1850 and the Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association have endorsed Jackson mayoral candidate Lowe Finney for mayor in the upcoming municipal election to be held May 5.

In a press release Lowe Finney said “We are grateful and excited that these first responders who work tirelessly to keep our community safe have now officially joined our campaign.” Finney added “These selfless servants have granted us the privilege of carrying their wellrespected name as we enter the final sixty days of the campaign. We will strive everyday to honor their endorsement.”

The associations each notified Finney by letter. Local President Tony Murdaugh wrote that firefighters are looking “forward to a cohesive relationship that provides safety and protection for our members and our community.”

State President James Mitchell added that members “look forward to working with you on issues impacting the firefighting and emergency medical services professions,” and that Finney was receiving a “respected endorsement with an engaged membership willing to work tirelessly on their behalf.”

The other candidates did not return calls for this story
