JACKSON Tenn (June 16, 2015) – Federal Officer Assaulted At Social Security Office
A man accused of assaulting a Federal officer and then striking a Jackson Police officer was in City Court for his first appearance.
According to the affidavit, Everett Johnson came to the Social Security office on Cheyenne Drive with an issue but when employees were unable to help him Johnson became belligerent. Â Johnson was asked to leave and was being escorted out by an officer
The officer said his intention was to help Mr Johnson get a ride but Johnson struck him several times and fled.
Jackson Police identified a subject that fit Johnson’s description but when the tried to detain him for investigation he struck the officer and attempted to flee.
Johnson is charged with simple assault on a police officer, simple assault, and resisting stop, frisk and arrest. His bond is set at $5,000.
