JACKSON, Tenn. – The new semester for the Jackson-Madison County School System will begin on Thursday, January 4, with one change.

All JMCSS bus pick up times will be delayed by two (2) hours, due to our extremely cold temperatures. This is out of concern for the wellbeing of the thousands of students who wait outside to catch our buses.

Despite the bus delay, all JMCSS schools will open at their regular times and teachers and staff will be on duty. This will allow parents to drop off their children at their normal times, if they would like. Breakfast will be available to all students, when they arrive. Classes will not begin until all bus riders have arrived.

All JMCSS bus drivers are asked to start your buses, Wednesday or before 6 a.m. Thursday. If you encounter a problem, contact the shop and a technician will be sent out to check your battery.
