Donations for the 36th annual Exchange Club Circles of Hope Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse Telethon totals $1,416,105.

“It was a great day, but we cannot do what we do without our volunteers, and the people who called in to make a donation,” Rita McCaslin said, “The money raised is for a great cause, but it’s the kids – that’s what it’s all about.”

Rita produced her 15th telethon at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, Sunday.

Tom Britt, news anchor at WBBJ TV, who has worked each of telethons since inception, was presented the Rusty Mac ‘Volunteer of the Year’ Award.
