Taking nothing for granted, Marsha Blackburn’s campaign for a seat in the U.S. Senate included a stop on Election Day, at the Old Country Store in Jackson, Tuesday.
“Over the last 13 months, it’s been great for us,” Blackburn (R-TN) said, “Our message centered on what Tennesseans wanted, and they have responded to it.
“We said we are going to take Tennessee values to Washington, support President Trump, work for more Constitutional judges, less regulation, less taxation, defend the Second Amendment and get Obamacare off the books.”
Blackburn, U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 7th congressional district since 2003, said her next stop would be in Clarksville, and she will watch the election returns in Franklin Marriott Cool Springs.
Blackburn said receiving 613,000 votes in the August Republican Primary compared to 349,000 for her opponent, former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen – was a “really good sign.”
“We were very encouraged, and we are going to win this,” Blackburn said, “It is going to be a victory for Tennesseans who want a conservative in the U. S. Senate.”
