JACKSON, Tenn – (November 17, 2014) — 73rd District Representative Jimmy Eldridge (R-Jackson) is having a good month. On Tuesday November 4th he won his 7th term in office with a resounding vote and on Monday he was recipient of the “Champion of Commerce” award.
The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce presented the award to Eldridge. According to a press release from the organization “the statewide board of directors for the Tennessee Chamber approves the award for legislators who have demonstrated exemplary efforts in protecting and promoting business and free enterprise at the conclusion of each General Assembly.”
Rep. Eldridge told the audience gathered at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, “I’ve worked hard to support legislation that helps give Tennessee businesses the opportunity to grow and thrive,”
Officials say the award is given to just over five percent of the total 132 members of the General Assembly.
After the announcement, Bradley Jackson, vice president of the Tennessee Chamber government affairs program said “We are proud to recognize Representative Jimmy Eldridge. This is a great opportunity to showcase these legislators who went above and beyond on a number of pro-business policies at the State Capitol.”
Eldridge said, “The Tennessee Chamber’s recognition is a great honor.”
The “Champion of Commerce” award is presented locally in coordination with the Tennessee Chamber and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
