From the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department –

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for one more confirmed case of COVID-19. We now have 173 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The most recent case is a 23-year-old female. Our Epidemiology staff is still trying to contact this individual, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time.

We were recently notified of eight false positive test results for COVID-19 at American Health Communities (AHC) West Tennessee Transitional Care.

The Tennessee Department of Health State Public Health Laboratory reported eight positive test results at the facility last week. Those individuals were retested twice, once by a private laboratory and again by the state laboratory. Each individual tested negative for COVID-19 during their second and third tests.

Two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, one of those patients is on a ventilator.

One hundred sixty Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and five people say they are feeling better.
