EEOC Complaint Filed Against Madison County Sheriff Department
JACKSON Tenn. — Former Sheriff’s Department Financial Administrator Rose Cash alleges she is the victim of Age, Disability, and Retaliation discrimination.
According to a letter, Cash filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on September 30, 2014.

In Cash’s complaint she states she testified on behalf of former Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork on February 5 2014 in his criminal case and that on February 18, 2014 she was transferred from her job as Financial Administrator to a job at Madison County Jail commissary which she describes as a correction officer position.
Cash says the transfer was retaliation and that she has not been given any reason for removing her from her clerical position. Cash says that in thirty one years of employment she has had no performance issues.
Cash states that she is being discriminated against in retaliation for testifying on behalf of Sheriff Woolfork in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She also alleges discrimination because of he age and her salary.
Madison County Attorney Steve Maroney said he was aware of the complaint but had not reviewed the specifics of the allegations.
The EEOC is offering to resolve the case in Mediation. The county has 15 days to respond before the agency assigns an investigator and the claim will be processed under the normal procedures.
