The turnout for the first day of early voting in the Republican and Democratic State Primaries had 724 voters cast ballots, Friday.
The breakdown had 430 people voting in the Republican State Primary, with 286 people casting ballots in the Democratic State Primary.
There were eight people who opted to vote in the County general election only.
Including absentees and nursing home residents, a total of 879 ballots have been cast in this election.
Early voting for the Republican and Democratic state primaries and the Madison County general election continues through July 28.
Registered voters can vote at the Madison County Agriculture Auditorium, 311 North Parkway, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to Noon, Saturdays.
Voters are required to present a photo identification – issued by the State of Tennessee or the United States government.
