The activity you may have noticed at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market had the looks of a back-to-school event, but Christina Youmans, a West Tennessee Healthcare therapist at Pathways said it was a ‘Community Awareness Event.’
“It’s health related, and we’ve had about 200 people attend,” Youmans said.
The University of Memphis offered health assessments and the Madison County Health Department discussed dietary choices.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrived with a DUI simulator, and other participating organizations included the Ayers Children’s Medical Center, Madison County Juvenile Court and Madison County Fire Department.
The event ended at 11 a.m.
