From Dr. Ricky Catlett, Deputy Superintendent of Operations, Business and Technology – Jackson-Madison County School System –
All schools in the Jackson-Madison County School System will be open Friday, April 1.
Entrances and exits have been cleared at all JMCSS campuses and our Operations team has inspected every building.
Due to confirmed reports of significant damage throughout the city and county, all Jackson-Madison County Schools were closed Thursday, March 31.
Nine school buildings, including the Central Office, were without power. Several roads were also impassable due to downed power lines.
