The City of Jackson has added to its real estate holdings after purchasing the former home of Murphy Tractor Company at 521 Airways Boulevard.
The $220,000 purchase includes three buildings.
The building nearest Airways Boulevard consists of 25,000-square-feet, and will be used by the Parks and Maintenance office personnel – and to repair mowing equipment.
One of the buildings will be razed.
The City was leasing a facility at 75 Wisteria St., from the Tennessee Valley Authority, which is scheduled to be demolished.
