Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints not only see the need to help the hungry in Jackson and Madison County, they continue to do something about it.
“Today we had the privilege of being at RIFA, and RIFA is an amazing organization that does so much good work in this community,” Michael Pearson said, “As representative of the church through the humanitarian efforts of our church, we have been able to make a donation of $9,000 worth of goods towards the Snack Backpack Program.”

“This is something we are able to do year to year – and have been able to make several donations over the last (five) years of about $100,000 worth of goods,” Pearson said. “This program is so essential … there is such a great need in our community. The need continues to rise and we’ve got to continue to help, and again, we are grateful to be part of this effort.”
Located at 133 Airways Blvd., the Regional Inter-Faith Association distributed about 1,200 Snack Backpacks to school children for 42 weeks during the 2017-2018 school year.
We obviously are extremely grateful for the continuing partnership we have with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and their support of the Snack Back Pack Program,” said Lisa Tillman, executive director at RIFA, “The Snack Backpack Program continues to grow year after year after year, so their support is essential to the success of this ministry.”
