JACKSON Tenn (June 15, 2015) – Attorney’s for both sides in the Charles Pittman murder trial were in court on Monday for a status hearing.
The District Attorney’s office told the court their expert witnesses could be ready to testify November 2nd.
Judge Roy Morgan set a plea deadline of September 8th and November 2nd for a trial date.
The defense has still not received all the evidence reports the state plans to present at trial including the blood-spatter report. Â Defense attorney George Googe, public defender, says he could make additional motions depending on what the information in the reports.
The defense has scheduled the full week for trial. Â Neither side will say how many witnesses they plan to call.
Charles Pittman is charged with 1st degree murder in the death of Olivia Greenlee. Greenlee was Pittman’s fiancée in 2014 when her body was found in her vehicle on the campus of Union University.  Both were students at the time.
Pittman says Greenlee committed suicide.
