From Byron Elam campaign for County Commission –
Byron Elam has begun his campaign for County Commissioner (District 4, Position 3). Elam is running because he believes the people of Madison County deserve:
• More investment in our children and schools. Decrease proliferation of spending on county
criminal justice system. Invest tax dollars responsibly where we receive our largest return- our teachers and our children.
• More government transparency & accountability. More town-hall meetings and regular
communication with the citizens of District 4.
• Increased quality of life for all of Madison County. Work with civic, educational business
partners to make Madison County a place where everyone can prosper and take care of their
families.
“Madison County’s ranking as 92nd in the state for education and at the very bottom for child well-being is a wake up call,” Elam said, “We need a new direction. We need new leadership. I am asking for the support of District. Together, we can make Madison County a better place to live and raise a family.”
Byron Elam is a 5th generation Madison Countian. He is also a graduate of Union University and currently a seminarian at Lexington Theological Seminary. He is employed in the non-profit sector.
Elam will face long-time commissioner Gary Deaton in the August election.
