Boys & Girls Club of Jackson, Motor City STEAM, Ford Philanthropy team up for STEAM Workshop in West Tennessee

JACKSON, TN – The Boys & Girls Club of Jackson, reaffirming its commitment to providing enriching opportunities for local youth, is partnering with the Motor City STEAM Foundation to host a two-day STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) workshop for students in grades 3-8 in West Tennessee.

This event is sponsored by Ford and Ford Philanthropy as part of its overarching support for the communities surrounding its BlueOval City manufacturing hub.

The workshops will provide students with the opportunity to explore careers in science and participate in engaging, hands-on science experiments. Each child will receive a science kit to take home, fostering continued learning and exploration.

“We are thrilled to partner with Motor City STEAM to bring this exciting opportunity to our students,” said Sabrina Anderson, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Jackson “This workshop will ignite their passion for science and inspire them to pursue careers in STEAM fields. This collaboration, made possible by Ford Philanthropy, aligns perfectly with our mission to provide access to high-quality educational programs that empower young people to reach their full potential.”

The Motor City STEAM Foundation, based in Detroit, MI, is dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of innovators, creators, and problem solvers in STEAM. The foundation is committed to bridging the opportunity gap by providing underserved communities with access to high-quality STEAM education, mentorship, and resources.

“Every child should have the opportunity to explore, create, and thrive. At Motor City STEAM Foundation, we’re making that possible by expanding access to STEAM learning for students across America,” said Deirdre Roberson, M.S. and Alecia Gabriel, Ph.D., Co-Executive Directors of Motor City STEAM Foundation.
